George was a favourite among Corrie fans when he first played the brewery heir from 2017 to 2018.

And when he left, ITV1 soap viewers were gutted.

According to the TV Times, cash-strapped Gemma will now come face-to-face with her old flame Henry when she begins working for him.

But the revelation about who her new boss is may not go down too well with Gemma’s husband Chesney.

George first arrived in Weatherfield as Henry in 2017. He began dating Gemma as part of a mean bet with a friend.

A year later, he tried to buy the Rovers Return with her but they lost out to Jenny and Johnny Connor.

The actor’s final scenes saw Henry being bundled into the back of Chesney’s stolen car by kidnappers and driven away into the distance.

At the time, George’s co-star Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, described him one of the “loveliest” actors.

George’s return to Corrie comes after HOAR Online told how he recently reunited with his former co-stars Georgia Taylor and Charlie De Melo during a night out in London.

Both Georgia and Charlie had been to see George in the West End production of Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, which he has been appearing in for a number of months.

Since leaving Corrie, George has mostly focused on stage work.

However, he has also appeared in a TV movie based on the life of Hollywood idol Patrick Swayze.
