JENNY Connor and Leo Thompkins have been going through a trying time on the cobbles.

But next week, the Rovers landlady realises her fiancé left Coronation Street for Canada without her.

Leo Thompkins has had it in for Stephen Reid for several weeks

The businessman tried to seduce the landlady

But Leo suddenly vanishes next week

The lovebirds haven’t always been on the best of terms, more particularly in recent weeks as the Weatherfield hunk portrayed by Joe Frost contemplated the idea of moving away.

And after breaking up, both him and Jenny (played by Sally Ann Matthews) agreed to get engaged – but there’s still trouble in paradise.

Coming up, Jenny confides in Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) that she’s worried about Leo.

She then tells her that Leo hasn’t been home all night and his phone goes straight to voicemail.

In later scenes, the mystery appears to be cleared up when Leo’s father Teddy (Grant Burgin) calls in the Rovers and is surprised to see Jenny alone behind the bar.

The landlady explains that Leo left for Canada without her and Teddy asserts that she only has herself to blame.

Little do they know Leo could be in serious danger.

Prior to him vanishing, supposedly across the Atlantic, Leo has a confrontation with his father who warns him that he’s mad to chuck his life away on a woman twice his age who can’t be trusted, referring to Jenny.

Soon after, Leo goes on a mission to prove Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) is a liar, most notably after the scheming businessman tried to seduce Jenny.

And when he eavesdrops on a conversation Stephen is having with Gabrielle, Leo knows he’s got enough dirt on his rival to scare him off.

Leo confronts Stephen, telling him he heard every word and knows all about his plan to get his hands on the equity from Audrey’s house to pay her back.

Stephen follows Leo onto the factory gantry as the latter taunts him and is threatening to reveal everything to Audrey.

But, before he can, Stephen sees red and lunges at him, sending Leo falling over the railings.

Will Leo survive the fall?

Or is Stephen ready to commit murder to get rid of his financial burdens?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV.
