Gary Windass should know that the truth always resurfaces in the cobbles and his involvement in Rick Neelan’s death will most likely be no exception.
Coming up, as Kelly gets ready to tie the knot with Aadi Alahan (played by Adam Hussain), Sharon rocks up Weatherfield and the former military portrayed by Mikey North isn’t happy.
While Sharon is ready to celebrate Kelly’s engagement, Gary knows she could also blow his cover and begs her not to reveal to Kelly that he killed her loan shark father.
However, Aadi lets slip about Kelly’s kidnapping ordeal, prompting her to ask Gary to give her away at the wedding and Sharon is horrified.
But Sharon won’t be the one to put Gary’s secret in jeopardy.
In later scenes, Kelly receives a holdall of her mother’s belongings which were left in Spain.
The youngster scrolls through a digital camera and she’s shocked to see the holiday dated as June 17, 2019 – the day her father was murdered.
This would mean Laura Neelan – who died of cancer – actually has an alibi, meaning she couldn’t have killed her former husband.
Kelly returns home and shows Gary the photos, telling him she wants to know the truth about her father’s death.
ITV viewers may remember how a terminally ill Laura (portrayed by Kel Allen) took the blame for Rick’s murder after finding out Gary was actually responsible for it.
But in an attempt to give her daughter Kelly the secure life she deserved after months of hardship, Laura thought it was worth keeping the truth under wraps.
Yet Corrie fans are suspecting there could be a dramatic showdown between both Kelly and Gary after she also finds out the truth.
Actress Millie Gibson is set to leave the long-running ITV soap, as announced in July, 2022.
Her character will be bowing out in an explosive fashion amid her engagement with Aadi and some speculated she could be killed off.
But what will her last exchange with Gary look like?
