SALLY Metcalfe is still plotting in the hopes of drawing her mother-in-law Elaine out of No. 4.
Next week in Coronation Street, it seems her plan finally works and she’s able to spend some time alone with her husband Tim.
Elaine (portrayed by Paula Wilcox) has been taking up a lot of space at Sally (played by Sally Dynevor) and Tim’s (Joe Duttine) home once the latter was all set to recover from heart surgery.
Coming up, the Underworld machinist is tired of walking on eggshells and decides to make her opinions known once and for all – even if it may trigger another argument within her family.
After another stay at her sister Gina’s in Newcastle, Sally returns to Weatherfield to find Elaine and Tim ensconced in front of the TV.
A peeved Sally realises that Elaine is firmly settled in Coronation Street and has no plans to leave anytime soon.

Aware this means she needs to act quickly, she asserts that it’s time Elaine moved out so they can spend some time in the bedroom – but Tim is anxious and tries to hide it.
Sally finally takes matters into her own hands and suggests directly to Elaine it is time she left them.
Her mother-in-law agrees and the pair see her off.
But while Sally can’t wait to make the most of the empty house, Tim is sad as he spent the last few weeks bonding with his mother during his recovery.
Yet there’s another setback for the couple as things don’t quite go to plan.
Sally previously tried to push Elaine out of the door, and even pulled a film prank on her, but failed to drive her away.
This left her feeling progressively left out of her own marriage and encouraged her to leave Weatherfield for Newcastle when her sister Gina needed her help amid crisis.
Eventually, Sally came back and everything seemed to be back on track with her husband Tim – but Elaine still stuck around.
Can Sally finally convince Elaine and Tim it’s time for them to part ways?
