Maria Connor is planning to rebrand the Christmas market as a Peace festival, much to Griff’s dismay.
But the activist has other things on his mind and he demands that Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock) meet him at his flat.
The latter obliges, unaware Griff is leading him to believe he is planning something for Maria’s meeting at the Town Hall.
Griff has a plan to get rid of Spider after learning the truth about his stay in the cobbles and his profession.
In later scenes, Spider gets a message from Max Turner (Paddy Bever), whom he’s trying to protect from Griff, asking to meet him urgently.
Sadly, it’s clear Spider fell into a trap when he comes face to face with Griff who knocks him out cold with a crowbar.
Spider returned to Weatherfield earlier in the year, rekindling his romance with former girlfriend Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor).
For several weeks, Spider was a welcome ally for Toyah who was facing trial for the murder of her husband Imran Habeeb.
However, it was soon revealed he was keeping secrets from her as his marriage came to light.
He kept his job as a police officer a secret but ITV viewers were allowed to know the truth.
Griff, on the other hand, has shown what he’s capable of to Max Turner amid a harrowing radicalisation storyline.
He notably got rid of Max’s bullies for him before recruiting him for his video editing skills.
The far-right activist and his gang were also responsible for Daryan’s brutal attack.
Spoilers have hinted he could hatch a plan to wreak mortal havoc in Weatherfield after targeting the lad as well as Alya Nazir.
