STEPHEN Reid is slowly becoming the biggest villain in the cobbles as he plots to steal from whoever he can.

But the businessman stoops to a new low during a confrontation with Leo Thompkins next week in Coronation Street.

But their feud takes a nasty turn next week

Is Stephen really capable of murder?

As ITV viewers may well know after years of closely following events in the Street, murder is often in the cards in Weatherfield.

Once again, one Corrie resident could meet their demise in upcoming scenes of the Manchester-based soap as Stephen (portrayed by Canadian actor Todd Boyce) desperately tries to cover his tracks.

Coming up, Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) is on a mission to prove that the scheming businessman is a liar after Stephen tried to seduce Jenny Connor in an attempt to steal from her.

Leo speaks to the estate agent who was booked to value Audrey Roberts’ house… and eavesdrops on a conversation with Gabrielle.

This leads him to find out Stephen’s plan is to get his hands on the equity from his mother Audrey’s house to pay her back.

Knowing that what he’s heard could turn Stephen’s plan on its head, Leo confronts him, revealing he heard every word.

Stephen follows Leo onto the factory gantry as the latter taunts him, threatening to call Audrey and tell her everything.

Eventually, Stephen sees red and lunges at Leo, sending him falling over the railings.

Leo lands on the ground with a thud on the commercial bins below as Stephen hurries down the ladder to check on him.

In later scenes, Jenny confides in Daisy Midgeley that she’s worried about Leo, as he’s spent the night out and his phone goes straight to voicemail.

As mentioned above, Stephen has been ready to do anything to get his hands on some cash as his financial issues are coming to light.

This included stealing from his mother when Audrey decided to put her wealth into a trust fund and letting Stephen take control of it.

Stephen was also tempted to seduce both Yasmeen Nazir and Jenny Connor in the hopes to get some of their funds.

But in his struggle for extra money, could Stephen really take a life?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV.
