CORONATION Street’s Sally Dynevor says her on-screen daughters could make a surprising return to the square if her character were to get married.

The actress, who has played Sally Metcalfe on the soap since 1986, is hoping to have her whole family back together and would love to her Rosie and Sophie Webster come back to Weatherfield.

Sally would love her characters daughters Rosie and Sophie to return to Coronation Street

Both Helen, who plays Rosie and Brooke who stars as Sophie are currently on maternity leave.

Helen, 29, has two children – four-year-old Matilda and Delilah, who’s one – and Brooke, 28, gave birth to her first child Mexx in Ocotber 2019.

Sally told Inside Soap it would “make her day” if her on-screen daughters made a return to the show.

“There was a point where Brooke came over with Mexx and Helen came over with her two little girls and we had lunch together.”

She added: “I said to them, ‘I can’t believe you’re in my house with your children when I’ve known you since you were babies!’ Every time I speak to Helen and Brooke I say, ‘have you told Corrie you would like to come back yet?’

“If Sally and Tim do get married again I know both my girls would return for that. It would make both mine and Sally’s day.”

Before Sally can even think about tying the knot, she has her own problems to deal with as she tries to uncover the lies of her father-in-law, Geoff involving his controlling emotional abuse towards wife Yasmeen, which had been going on for months.

She was able to reveal his use of prostitutes throughout the marriage and when Geoff realised it would most likely come out in court, he admitted it to the police in the attempt it will help his case against Yasmeen.

Sally Dynevor has been on Coronation Street since 1986

Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has revealed she struggled to cope with her own horrendous domestic abuse storyline back in the nineties.

And 57-year-old actress Sally has admitted the current storyline with Geoff and Yasmeen reminds her of when she filmed scenes during the 1990’s with her abusive partner Greg Kelly.

“I remember that it was one of the only storylines I’ve had where I’ve been home at night and thought, ‘today was horrendous’”, she told Inside Soap.

“It’s hard going through something like that, spending a day being abused and beaten up, and then coming home to live a normal life.”
