GRIFF Reynolds has had a hold over Max Turner for several weeks amid a grooming storyline.

The lad’s father David Platt risks his own life to protect him from the extremist in future Coronation Street scenes.

David Platt has tried to warn Max to stay away from Griff Reynolds

But he’s set to face the activist in upcoming scenes

Will he survive?

Troubled teen Max Turner (portrayed by Paddy Bever) fell for Griff Reynolds’ ploy to get his support.

The activist (Michael Condron) first took care of Max’s bullies in an attempt to gain his trust and convince him to join his far-right gang.

Griff made the most of Max’s video editing skills to spread his vicious propaganda.

However, his true motives were soon made clear in the cobbles and Max is left to deal with the consequences.

In scenes due to air on ITV, the police question the youngster about his involvement with Griff’s gang.

But he’s soon released without charge.

Meanwhile, his adoptive grandmother Gail Platt (Helen Worth) categorically refuses to support him, much to David Platt’s (Jack P. Shepherd) dismay.

Soon enough, Griff confront a horrified Max – what will he do?

While that remains to be seen, Daryan soon witnesses Max arguing with a man inside the house and warns David.

Alarmed, David rushes to the house to see what is going on, coming face to face with Griff.

A brutal fight breaks out between both men as Max watches helplessly.

Has David put himself and his son in danger?

Who will come out on top?

Could Griff get revenge on Max and David?

As mentioned above, Griff managed to get Max on his side, despite the teen being told by many residents to stay away from him.

David was worried about his son’s friendship with Griff, unaware that undercover copper Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock) was keeping an eye on him.

Griff’s gang was notably responsible for Daryan’s Ofcom-worthy assault.

The grooming storyline left many fans of the Manchester-based drama torn.

Many of them couldn’t help but notice some similarities with EastEnders’ own extremist storyline involving Aaron Monroe.

But how will it end for Max Turner?

Will David survive his fight with Griff?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV.

Griff is trying to cover his tracks

How far will he go?
