A driver who caused a fatal crash that killed a pregnant Hollyoaks actress will have his prison sentence increased, according to top judges. Adil Iqbal, 22, was driving his father's BMW 140i at 123mph when he collided with Frankie Jules-Hough, 38, who had pulled over on the hard shoulder due to a puncture. Iqbal was originally sentenced to 12 years in prison after admitting to causing serious injury by dangerous driving and causing death by dangerous driving. His sentence has now been extended by three years.
Tragic accident on the M66
The incident occurred on May 13 when Frankie Jules-Hough stopped her car on the hard shoulder with her three children inside. Iqbal, who was filming himself, swerved and hit the central reservation before colliding with Frankie's vehicle. The impact caused the BMW to spin at 92mph before crashing into Frankie's Skoda Fabia. Frankie, who was 17 weeks pregnant with a baby girl, sadly died in the hospital. Her nine-year-old son and four-year-old nephew suffered serious brain injuries, while her two-year-old son also received medical treatment.
Sentence increased after appeal
Iqbal initially received a 12-year prison sentence for his actions. However, top judges ruled that the sentence was too lenient and decided to increase it by three years. The judges described Iqbal's driving as unnecessarily dangerous and highlighted the need for a change in the mentality that leads to such risky behavior on the roads.

Tributes poured in for Frankie Jules-Hough, who had previously appeared in Hollyoaks.
