Fans have spotted a ‘clue’ that Mick is alive

As usual, Christmas in Albert Square is never peaceful and Mick departed in dramatic scenes.

It all kicked off when Janine’s daughter Scarlette revealed her mum had lied.

She confessed how earlier this year it was Janine driving the car that crashed and she moved Linda into the driver’s seat to make it appear that she had been drink-driving.

Mick was furious and told his new wife it was over and that the police were on their way.

A chase then ensued as Janine fled Walford – with Mick and Linda following her in another car.

But after Linda managed to get into Janine’s car she drove off a cliff leaving the two women trapped inside.

While Mick managed to pull Janine to safety, he couldn’t find Linda and went back into the water to rescue her.

Linda did manage to free herself and appeared on the beach asking Janine where Mick was.

She was then hysterical after learning he had gone back into the water – but didn’t return.

As the Christmas episode ended, a shot of the sea showed no sign of Mick.

However, fans are convinced he’s not dead and could even return to the soap one day as his body wasn’t found.

One said: “No body though, #EastEnders.

Another posted: “No body, we didn’t see him drown. We’ve just been lead to assume he died. Mick is well and truly alive. #EastEnders.”

“Mick’s doing a Dirty Den in 10 years, he’s basically the modern day version! “HELLO LINDA!,” said a third.

While a fourth said: “I won’t believe Mick’s dead until I see his body… and no Julia’s theme either!! I think he’ll be back… I live in hope!!”

EastEnders continues on BBC One and iPlayer.
