BBC Soap Moved for World Athletics Championships
EastEnders fans brace yourselves, as the popular BBC soap is set to face a major schedule shakeup to accommodate the highly anticipated return of Cindy Beale to Walford.
Live Coverage of Athletics Championships Takes Over
Due to the World Athletics Championships, EastEnders will be temporarily kicked out of its regular 7.30pm BBC One slot. Instead, BBC One’s evening schedule will feature live coverage from Budapest, where the competition is taking place.
Changes to Airtimes
This means that on Monday, August 21, there will be no episode of EastEnders. However, fans can look forward to a double bill on Tuesday, August 22, starting from 7pm. On Wednesday, August 23, there will once again be no episode airing on BBC One. But fear not, because on Thursday, August 24 – the day of Cindy Beale’s return – there will be a thrilling hour-long double bill, starting from 7pm.
Streaming Solution
For those who use iPlayer to watch EastEnders, don't worry – you won't miss out. New episodes will continue to be available on its usual days from 6pm. So, fans can catch up with all the drama on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday on the streaming service.
Cindy Beale's Return
Cindy's return to Walford comes after her son Peter Beale makes a shocking comeback. Summoned by his brother Bobby, Peter discovers that he has two sisters living in Walford. Unable to resist the temptation, he can't help but meet them.
Explosive Revelations
Cindy has no idea her daughters, or her ex George Knight, are living in Walford. Her return is initially to take Peter back to France, but a spoiler trailer reveals she ends up revealing herself as alive to her mother-in-law Kathy Beale in a truly explosive moment.
Don't miss Cindy Beale's first scenes back in Walford, airing on Thursday, August 24 on iPlayer from 6am.
