As the highly-anticipated reveal of the mystery man dead on the floor of the Vic approaches, Letitia Dean, who plays Sharon Watts in EastEnders, has admitted that her character "would kill for her kids." In a recent discussion with the six actresses involved in the gripping storyline, they shared their own theories on whodunnit.

Who is the victim?

The six matriarchs – Sharon, Linda, Suki, Stacey, Denise, and Kathy – were all seen in a flashforward scene, standing around the lifeless body. Fans of EastEnders have been eagerly trying to figure out both the identity of the victim and which woman is responsible for their demise.

Sharon's potential motive

Letitia Dean's character, Sharon, is seen wearing a wedding dress in the flashforward, leading some fans to speculate that her soon-to-be husband, Keanu, might be the victim. Unaware that Keanu orchestrated a fake kidnap plot involving her son Albie, Letitia believes that if Sharon were to discover the truth, it could be enough to drive her to murder. "I think she would fight tooth and nail for her children," Letitia shared during an interview on The Six – Revealed.

A history of violence

Host Joe Swash pointed out that this wouldn't be Sharon's first foray into attempted murder. She previously tried to kill Ian Beale, Letitia revealed. "Over her son. And this one is over her son as well. And I think she would kill for her children." When asked if that was a confession, Letitia coyly replied, "Not really Joe, I have no idea."

The killer's identity

In a dramatic twist, Joe disclosed at the beginning of the episode that the actress who portrays the killer has been informed by show bosses. At the end of the 30-minute episode, the women were asked to stand up, and after the iconic duff duffs played, the killer was supposed to step forward. However, the screen went black at the crucial moment, leaving viewers only with the actresses' shocked screams when the identity was revealed to them.

EastEnders airs on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
