Will Jean be brought back to her senses and out of her manic episode?

In recent episodes of the iconic BBC One soap, the character has been acting out, leaving her daughter Stacey (Lacey Turner) worried beyond belief for her well-being.

Meanwhile, Jean believes she’s only having some harmless fun and living her best life.

Coming up, however, she’s willing to prove her commitment to Harvey (portrayed by Ross Boatman) with a grand and unexpected gesture.

TOUGH DAY

EastEnders’ Mick Carter breaks down in tears at Tina’s funeral

It all begins when Jean is seen by Whitney Dean and Martin Fowler (Shona McGarty and James Bye) tumbling out of a limo after a night out.

A dishevelled Jean is taken back to Sharon’s home and she talks about the previous night’s events with a stag do as she rummages through Linda’s suitcase to admire her clothes.

Meanwhile, Harvey sulks over his recent breakup with Jean – but she soon wants to clear the air.

When she notices the groom from the stag do she attended getting married, Jean manages to catch the bouquet as he awkwardly tries to get rid of her.

In Jean’s mind, this is potentially the best day of her life.

Happier and more determined than ever, she surprises the cabbie and proposes to him.

But how will Harvey react?

Aware that her mother is suffering from her bipolar disorder, the cause of the manic episode, Stacey does all she can to get her the help she needs and prevent her from endangering anybody.

Next week, mother and daughter get into another spat when Stacey tells Jean she has a doctor’s appointment a few days away.

Jean is furious and storms off, undoubtedly deepening the row with her daughter.

Stacey has been trying to keep Jean on the right track as soon as she noticed the first signs of her episode.

But admitting she needs help has been a challenge Jean is unwilling to take as she has rejected Stacey’s constant efforts, even moving in with Harvey and Rocky by declaring her daughter dead to her.

Will Jean get help?
