EASTENDERS star Danielle Harrold has revealed she is battling a real-life health condition.

The soap actress, 31, has been a fixture on the BBC One soap for over a decade now.

Speaking to the Mirror, the star revealed she has been in and out of hospital

However, in heartbreaking scenes that aired on Wednesday night, her character Lola Pearce died.

She had been battling a terminal brain tumour.

But off camera, Danielle has revealed her own health struggles in a candid interview.

It all started when she was just 15 years old when he suffered a chronic bladder infection.

The painful saga plagued her education as she said: “When I was in Year 10, I fell ill and I was in and out of hospital.”

With her condition continuing to disrupt her studies and her life in general, she left school.

“At that point I just gave up. I didn’t try with my GCSEs and I only got one,” Danielle revealed.

“After that I worked as a waitress, but I didn’t really enjoy it. I lost all my confidence and I didn’t believe in myself.”

However, Danielle refused to let the condition overrule her life and she fought back, pursing her education.

Harold bowed out of EastEnders last night in tear-jerking scenes.

Fans of the London-based drama have all been dreading the inevitable since learning Lola’s brain tumour had spread.

The fan-favourite character was desperately weak and became unresponsive.

The nurse let everyone know it was time for Lola’s loved ones to say their goodbyes as she had only hours left.

Jay told his wife that he hopes they will be reunited in another life before breaking down in tears.

Lola eventually breathed her last while she was embraced by Lexi and Jay.
