EASTENDERS viewers were left reeling after Linda Carter makes an unsettling discovery about her soon to be stepdad George Knight.

BBC viewers know that Linda is trying to get to the bottom of why George’s ex wife Rose left him and their two daughters Anna and Gina.

Linda received surprising news from detective Callum

Callum said the serious crime unit gave him a warning

Phil learned George lied to him about Rose

We know that Rose Knight walked out on her own family nine years ago, leaving her then-husband George to raise their two daughters.

But tonight’s episode of the BBC soap showed that the police know what happened to Rose and are covering it up.

Phil Mitchell told detective Callum Highway to search for Rose on the police system as Phil was going into business with George and wanted to know if he was involved in his ex-wife’s disappearance.

Callum was shocked to discover that Rose Knight was blocked on their system.

Things got even more suspicious when Callum got an unexpected visitor from the serious crime unit warning him not to get involved with Rose.

When Callum told Linda and Phil in the pub about his visit, Linda was more certain than ever that George is hiding something about his past and that the police are in on it.

Callum informed them that it goes all the way to the top at the police station, leaving them stunned.

Phil also realised George lied to him and fed him a fake story about his ex-wife.

With the Walford residents getting closer to the truth, will George finally reveal what happened to Rose?

How will his daughters and fiancé Elaine react when they learn the truth?

Viewers were left open-mouthed as they realised Linda was right to be suspicious of her soon to be stepdad.

Taking to Twitter, one said: “I wonder if George was ever violent towards Rose? That outburst was very extreme in the Boxing ring. #EastEnders.”

Another wrote: “The Rose Knight mystery is so entertaining I cannot wait for the reveal tomorrow and Thursday xx #Eastenders.”

A third penned: “It’s becoming more and more evident that Rose is in witness protection #EastEnders.”

“George is up to something. And Phil is gonna find out what it is #EastEnders,” another said.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday from 7:30pm on BBC One.
