EMMERDALE has dropped a huge hint Vanessa’s ex Kirin could return to take custody of her son Johnny if she doesn’t survive her battle with cancer.
Viewers of the ITV soap will know Vanessa and partner Charity have been bickering over who will look after Johnny when she dies.
Tension between the two reached boiling point this week when Vanessa asked Rhona – and not Charity – to be Johnny’s guardian.
Charity was gutted at the decision and lashed out at Vanessa, telling her it was clear her “feelings don’t matter.”
She fumed: “What you think is what counts. You’ve made that crystal clear.”
And when Vanessa promised that she “loves” Charity, she replied: “Well you’ve got a funny way of showing it sometimes.”
Next week, the pair manage to come to an agreement as they decide for Charity to adopt Johnny.
Sadly, the decision isn’t a straight forward one for the character, who needs permission from Vanessa’s ex Karin before going ahead.
Charity then approaches Priya Kotecha and asks her if she knows where Karin could be.
Kirin – played by Adam Fielding – was last seen back in 2016 after he killed Tess Harris.
It’s believed he has since settled in South America.
But with Charity desperate for Johnny’s biological father to agree with the adoption, will Karin be as willing?
