Jai recently was stunned to learn he was adopted
It happened as he found his birth certificate which said he officially became the son of one Rishi Sharma.
Jai was left reeling as he told Laurel: “My whole life has been a lie.”
He demanded answers from Rishi who at first was reluctant to speak about the revelation.
However, he later explained to Jai that his mum had a one-night stand with a mystery man shortly before they met.
After finding out she was pregnant with Jai, Rishi married her and raised him as his own.
He added that Jai’s real dad doesn’t even know he exists as they failed to contact him after their fling.
Jai was shocked at the news, but also felt like he was still being lied to.
Following their conversation, Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve rumbled what actually happened.
They took to social media to speculate that Jai’s mother may have been raped by his father.
One said: “There has to be some god awful reason why Rishi has never told Jay. Like r@pe or something equally as awful.”
A second wrote: “Wonder if Jai’s mother was raped, and that’s why Rishi won’t tell him the full truth.”
“Rishi is hiding something or someone relative perhaps a brother a bad apple in family banished from family,” said a third.
While a fourth commented: “I think that Jai is a result of rape. Rishi took the mantle, but now is bearing the brunt of Jai’s anger.”
