EMMERDALE legend Ben Freeman has landed himself a major Hollywood role in a huge US TV series.

The actor – who is best known for playing Scott Windsor in the ITV soap between 1998 and 2007 – is set to take America by storm with his new role.

HOAR can exclusively reveal that he will play Corporal Woodbine in the new season of Outlander.

A source said: “It’s a great role and fans will be delighted to see him in the show.

“Ben’s done a lot of stage work recently and his fans will love seeing him back on screens.”

In 2021 Ben swapped soaps and joined BBC soap EastEnders for a guest stint playing villain Caleb.

But this year Emmerdale fans were thrilled when the soap hinted at a comeback for Ben’s character Scott.

When his younger sister Cathy began suffering from a severe mental illness, Scott stepped in off-screen to invite her to live with him in the Lake District.

She is currently staying with him in the Lakes.

Bosses have confirmed that Cathy will return – but it has left fans hoping that her big brother will come with her.

Scott made his mark on the village over the years with shocking storylines including a steamy affair with his own stepsister Kelly.

He also fathered lesbian multi-millionaire vet Zoe Tate’s child before fleeing the village in disgrace.
