EMMERDALE’S Wendy Posner star has revealed the dark secret threatening to tear her relationship with Bob Hope apart.
The actress – played by Susan Cookson on the ITV soap – has been keeping something huge hidden since she arrived in 2019.
Earlier this week, Wendy attended her mother-in-law Agnes’ funeral, but lied to Bob that she was going to a training day.
Wendy’s ex-husband Russ turns up on her door and demands his inheritance back, which his mother left to Victoria’s baby Harry in her will.
It is not yet known what Wendy is hiding, but it could tear her and Bob’s relationship apart.
Actress Susan admitted that the nurse will left terrified by the criminal.
Susan said: “I don’t think there’s anyone she can confide in. She does eventually to Bob but she hopes she can sort it herself and it will all go away.
“She and Bob have a great relationship, she has Harry, she has friends. But because of what Russ knows about her, there is nobody she can talk to.
“She isn’t going to involve Luke but the fear is if she were to tell anyone at this stage, it wouldn’t be good for it.
“There’s been times where she has told Bob porkies in the past because things have made her worry he might see her as a different person, but this is huge.”
Wendy fears that skeletons in her closest will be exposed.
She added: “Wendy is genuine and it all comes from a good place but we all have skeletons in our closet.
“She has worked incredibly hard to have a reasonable life but with this, if she tells Bob, her fear is that he will be like, ‘you know what, I don’t even know you,’ and it will be the end of it. She’s terrified of losing him.”
Susan explained that the village nurse is clearly petrified of her ex and doesn’t want him to play a part in Harry’s life.
She said: “He is somebody she has gone to huge lengths to escape and get away from. The first thing she wants to know is how he’s tracked her down, which is done through social media.
“She’s carved out this life for herself and genuinely cares about Victoria and her grandson. All she can see with Russ is it’s gonna throw a spanner in the works.
“She knows what he’s like and you naturally wouldn’t want someone like that near a young child.”
Susan added: “It’s a real worry for her cos she knows what he is capable of and what he’s like, which is why she went to the lengths she did to get away from him.
“She’s completely intimidated by him, that was one of the things in their marriage. She had a nice life carved out for herself, but it came at a price and he held her strings. He was in charge of it all.”
Things only get worse later in the week as Wendy is forced to introduce Russ to Victoria as Harry’s grandfather as she’s coerced into accepting his demands.
She’s horrified when he insists he wants to be a part of Victoria and Harry’s life, and tries to persuade him to take the money and leave.
It all kicks off as Wendy tells Russ it’ll take her a while to get her hands on the cash he wants.
She’s terrified when he tells her if he doesn’t receive the cash sharpish then Victoria will face the consequences.
