THE storm has cleared up and left the ITV Dales in tears and tatters, with villagers having to pick up the pieces.
But as many mourn and recover, the drama continues in Emmerdale – and two residents may leave altogether. Here’s what you can expect.
Bernice Blackstock comes up with a plan to get life in the village back on track
Residents of the Dales are left to pick up the pieces after the storm
1. Bernice and Bob go head-to-head
Building the eponymous village back after the destruction caused by the storm will be no easy feat for Bernice Blackstock (portrayed by Samantha Giles).
And to make matters more difficult, her deputy Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) is feeling put upon, which will only cause friction between the two local political figures.
Coming up on ITV this week, Bernice puts together a group of volunteers to fix the damage in the Dales.
But her bossy attitude only makes Bob’s resentment against her grow.
As Bernice thrives during the operation, Bob grows increasingly more frustrated.
Can he knock Bernice off her perch?
2. David comes back
This week will also mark the return of David Metcalfe.
The shop owner portrayed by Matthew Wolfenden took a backseat from all the explosive drama aired on screens.
He most notably left the eponymous village to help his former partner, Alicia Gallagher, after she’d been an accident.
Although he escaped the deadly storm and the havoc it wreaked, David has no other choice but to deal with the fallout.
Upon his return, Bernice reminds David he will need to start attracting customers again, which only causes him to worry about the setback.
Will he have more issues to encounter after getting back on his feet financially with Victoria Sugden’s help?
3. Chas and Al’s affair is under threat
Meanwhile, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) is still determined to keep her secret romance with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) a secret.
But after Belle Dingle, her own son Aaron (Danny Miller) could be the one to expose it all.
Aaron is feeling vulnerable after the shocking death of his half-sister Liv Flaherty which was the result of a horrific accident provoked by the gushes of wind.
Before he had to say an emotional goodbye to Liv, Aaron caught the Woolpack manager with the scheming businessman… after spotting them kissing a first time outside the iconic pub.
Chas is therefore worried Aaron, who views her husband Paddy as a father figure, will spill the beans.
Paddy urges Aaron to patch things up with Chas, unaware of her affair with Al, and Aaron reluctantly agrees.
He then accuses his mother of still being with Al, which Chas vehemently denies – before stooping to a troubling low.
Chas emotionally blackmails Aaron into backing down and she’s relived when she successfully pushes him towards the option to leave the village entirely.
4. Paddy gets suspicious
While Aaron acts on his decision to get out of the Dales once again, Chas covers as Paddy (Dominic Brunt) expresses sadness at the news.
However, things fail to add up which leads him to worry.
Could his suspicions grow?
Just as Chas continues to cover her tracks, her lover Al does all he can to divert his own partner Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) from planning their upcoming nuptials.
And he still promises Chas he wants to run away with her.
Will he actually go through with it?
5. Chloe plans her exit
Elsewhere in the Dales, Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) is carrying the emotional weight of her pregnancy all alone after her one night stand with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).
This week, Chloe is feeling out on a limb when met with the prospect of motherhood alone.
And she’s not ready to let things go with Mack.
Kerry is frustrated by her insistence on holding him responsible for his actions, which include dumping her after their night together.
Things only get more harrowing for Kerry when Chloe makes the decision to leave the village and settle in Leeds.
The cleaner desperately tries to convince Chloe to stay… and is floored when the latter reveals she’s pregnant.
How will Kerry react?
Could this cause problems with Chloe’s criminal father?
Emmerdale airs from Monday to Friday at 7.30pm on ITV.
