Soap Star Quits UK and Embraces New Adventure
A former Emmerdale star, Kelli Hollis, has opened up about her decision to leave the soap and the UK behind and start a new life in Thailand. Kelli, who played Ali Spencer on the show, now runs a weed bar in Pattaya with her partner Martin.
A Fresh Start for Ali Spencer
Emmerdale fans will remember Ali Spencer, who arrived in the village in 2011 to join her sister Rachel Breckle. But after Ruby's death, Ali left for good. Similarly, Kelli Hollis, the actress who portrayed Ali, decided to make a fresh start and move to Thailand.
New Opportunities in the Land of Smiles
With the recent legalization of cannabis for personal use in Thailand, Kelli saw an opportunity and opened La Choza Pratumnak bar. She has embraced this new venture and has no plans of returning to the UK.
The Appeal of Thailand
Kelli shared, "You only live once, and I have learned that a lot over the last few years. This new chapter in Thailand allows me to access different aspects of life." Despite missing England and her family, Kelli is fully committed to her new life in Thailand.
From Actress to Entrepreneur
Kelli admitted that selling weed in Thailand is more likely for her than being an actress. Although she doesn't personally enjoy the feeling of being stoned, she has become partial to edibles and promotes them for rest and pain relief. Kelli sees her products as an alternative for those who don't want to smoke.
Soap Star's Big Return
In other Emmerdale news, Gemma Oaten, who played Kelli's on-screen sister Rachel, is set to make a comeback to soapland. She will be appearing in BBC daytime soap Doctors, marking her return after 13 years.
