HE’S been on our screens as Hollyoaks’ Sid Sumner since 2019 – but we doubt that’s the first time you’ve seen actor Billy Price.

That’s because the Channel 4 soap star, who is 22 years old, has been solidly working since he was a child, building up an impressive C.V for his young years.

Billy Price is known and loved by Hollyoaks’ fans

Billy started his career when he was just a youngster, treading the boards in a series of theatre productions.

He took on the role of a lost boy in Peter Pan, before landing a part in popular show To Kill A Mockingbird.

But it was when Billy was named as part of the cast of Nickelodeon and Comedy Central show SHHH! that things really took off.

The child star was cast as Jack in 2019 in the series which followed a group of cheeky students who were continuously getting into trouble at school.

Reminiscing about his time on the kids’ show, Billy said: “SHHH! is something that I’m really proud to have worked on.”

He then went on to say that it would always stand out on his acting credits for one very special reason.

“The Comedy Central/ Nickelodeon series was a silent comedy much like Mr Bean, which not only allowed it to be distributed worldwide, but meant that individuals who have hearing disabilities were able to submerge themselves into the world of TV comedy.”

But, like any actor, Billy has also faced some rejection along the way.

Billy recently revealed that just after he stepped into the shoes of troubled teen Sid – who was originally meant to be just a short term guest role – he had eyed up another part – for rival soap EastEnders.

Billy confessed: “I actually auditioned for EastEnders. I auditioned for Bobby Beale.

The actor added that he’d also been seen for the role of Hunter, as he continued: “I’ve been for so many EastEnders auditions! They’re so lovely over there.”

However, Billy – who regularly posts on social media about going out with his mates – has said that he thinks it was in the hands of fate.

He added: “A couple of days after I didn’t get the part, I got a call from my agent saying: ‘They’re going to promote your Hollyoaks character to a regular.’

“I was over the moon. Everything happens for a reason.”

As well as acting, National Television Award nominee Billy has many other hobbies and said that he’s recently started learning how to play guitar.

The actor originally started out in theatre before swapping to the small screen
