TIM Metcalfe has been suspicious of Stephen Reid since he first became involved with his mother Elaine Jones.

New shots of upcoming Coronation Street scenes show the cabbie played by Joe Duttine edging closer to the truth. Is he in danger?

Could Tim Metcalfe be the one to expose Stephen Reid?

The cabbie has been suspicious of him

Tim finds Stephen near the canal – where he dumped Teddy Thompkins’ body

Elaine Jones has been head over heels for Stephen Reid since he first rocked up the cobbles in 2022.

And when he finally paid attention to her, agreeing to tie the knot, Elaine was over the moon and planning for their future together.

Unfortunately, Tim Metcalfe has made it clear he’s completely opposed to the idea of his mother moving on, particularly due to her vulnerability after her relationship with his abusive and controlling father.

Tim tried to kidnap his own mother when she planned to elope with Stephen in Las Vegas and despite being urged to put his differences with the businessman aside, he hasn’t found it in him to make an effort with his future stepfather.

ITV viewers will know that Tim is right to worry as Stephen is one of Weatherfield’s most dangerous villains and a serial killer.

But could an oblivious Tim finally figure out the whole truth about Stephen Reid?

Shots of actors Joe Duttine and Todd Boyce have shown both men could be in for a showdown in upcoming scenes of the Manchester-based drama.

Tim will be turning detective and follow Stephen to the canal.

Stephen has a troubled history with the landmark as he picked it for Teddy Thompkins’ last resting place.

Indeed, earlier this year, Stephen committed his second murder by killing Teddy Thompkins with a staple gun in the Underworld factory.

Though the death was an accident triggered by blind rage, much like Leo’s death, Stephen had no choice but to get rid of the body.

The murderer will thus be checking if Teddy’s body is still well-hidden in the canal – but will Tim catch him?

Could he reveal what he has been up to since he first returned to the cobbles?

Stephen is getting ready to kill again, targeting a wealthy Elaine Jones, but could he turn his sights to her son Tim?

Spoilers have hinted that both men will be involved in a heated confrontation as Tim figures out Stephen’s intentions with Elaine were far from good.

But will Stephen’s murders ever come to light?

Are the walls really closing in on him?

Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.

Could Tim realise what Stephen is up to?

Will his murders ever be uncovered?
