Coronation Street fans were in for a surprise as a beloved Noughties star made her return to the show.

A Blast from the Past

Carla Medonça, best known for her role on the children's sitcom 'My Parents are Aliens', reappeared on the cobbles in a completely different look.

Sporting a cropped, blonde hairstyle, Carla played the character of Orla Crawshaw, the deputy headmistress of Weatherfield High.

Social Media Frenzy

Viewers took to social media to express their shock and delight at Carla's transformation. Many couldn't help but compare her new look to her iconic red locks from her time on 'My Parents are Aliens'.

One fan wrote, "Oooh Mrs Crawshaw has short hair now!" while another exclaimed, "Great to see Mrs Crawshaw back and loving her new hairdo."

A Cult Hit

Carla is no stranger to the spotlight, having portrayed the character of Sophie Johnson in the popular ITV kids show. Sophie was a red-headed Valuxian alien shapeshifter who fostered three orphans after crash-landing on Earth.

'My Parents are Aliens' ran from 1999 to 2006 and gained a dedicated fanbase.

A Reunion

Last year, Carla's former co-star Tony Gardner, who played Brian Johnson on the show, shared a photo of a cast reunion. The picture featured several familiar faces, including Jordan Maxwell, Charlotte Francis, Bella Melling, Olisa Odele, Stephanie Fearon, and Patrick Niknejad.

Carla, now portraying Orla Crawshaw, has certainly caught the attention of viewers with her new blonde hairstyle. Fans can't wait to see what's in store for her character on 'Coronation Street'.
