DIAGNOSED with motor neurone disease (MND), Paul Foreman is trying to make the most of the time he has left to live.

But as his health deteriorates, the builder played by Peter Ash makes a big decision after a fall next week in Coronation Street.

This prompts him to make a big decision

Paul kept his devastating diagnosis a secret from the people closest to him for several weeks.

But when his partner Billy Mayhew (portrayed by Daniel Brocklebank) found out he had been diagnosed with MND, Paul knew it was time for him to come clean to his family.

He finally revealed everything to them on his sister Gemma Winter’s wedding day.

Following his announcement, Billy and Paul left the cobbles for a romantic getaway as the latter remains determined to live life to the fullest before it’s too late.

Coming up next week on ITV, Billy and Paul return from their holiday and go through their post.

Paul’s taken aback to discover that someone’s been looking into a Personal Independence Payment on his behalf.

Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) admits it was his own mother Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove).

Paul rails at Bernie, making it clear that he finds her fundraising attempts humiliating.

However, in later scenes, he turns to her for help.

As Paul climbs off the bus with his shopping, his leg gives way, sending him sprawling.

Bernie rushes over to help him and manages to persuade a reluctant Paul to let her try out her crystal therapy on him.

As viewers of the Manchester-based program will remember, Paul is running out of options against his illness.

He most recently expressed hope that a treatment he’d been reading about online could help him overcome his symptoms.

This prompted him to demand more information about Tofersen from his doctor and he was desperate to find out whether he could be given the treatment.

Unfortunately, in late May, Paul was told there was “practically zero chance” he could benefit from Tofersen as he has no family history with MND.

How will Paul cope with MND?

Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
