Life drastically changes for Paul Foreman as his health deteriorates following his diagnosis of motor neurone disease (MND).

Struggling with Illness

The Coronation Street character, played by Peter Ash, grows increasingly upset as the illness takes its toll next week.

Preparing for Wedding

After going through legal turmoil, Paul is slowly preparing for his wedding with long-time partner Billy Mayhew, played by Daniel Brocklebank.

Increasing Incapacitation

However, the symptoms of his condition are becoming incapacitating, making each day harder for Paul.

A Helping Hand

In the flower shop flat, Billy notices Paul struggling with his right leg and tries to help by providing a walking aid. When Paul finds it difficult to use, Billy suggests a wheelchair instead, leading to Paul's horror at the idea.

Overwhelmed with Emotion

On Paul's birthday, Billy presents him with an engagement ring and Paul is overcome with emotion. However, at his joint party with his twin sister Gemma, Paul becomes overwhelmed by the number of people in attendance.

A Humiliating Experience

When Paul tries to chase after Bryn, he crashes to the ground, admitting later that he can no longer manage the stairs. With the help of Billy and Todd Grimshaw, they carry Paul up to the flat, leaving him feeling utterly humiliated.

A Difficult Decision

Feeling defeated, Paul reluctantly admits that it may be time for a stair lift. In later scenes, Paul is up for fancy dress during Pride, but he becomes dismayed when his occupational therapist agrees with Billy that it's probably time for a wheelchair.

Emotional Turmoil

Paul's anger towards Billy grows when David Platt reveals that he found Paul drinking vodka on a bench. As Paul attends Pride, he realizes that it may be his last time celebrating the annual event.

Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
