The Emmerdale resident is crestfallen when he realises he’s being held at arm’s length by his own daughter.

She was given a new job opportunity in London
After more than a decade in the eponymous village, actress Fiona Wade is ready to move on to new projects.
Her on-screen alter ego, Priya Sharma, will be leaving her life behind.
But when the wedding planner’s father Rishi Sharma (portrayed by Bhasker Patel) stays behind in the Yorkshire Dales, he comes to a sad realisation.
Rishi is disappointed when it’s clear to him Priya never had any intention of taking him with her away from the village.
What will he do when faced with this harsh rejection?
As mentioned above, Priya is set for an emotional exit but it won’t happen without any explosive drama.
It all begins when the lingering trauma from her ordeal in a maze fire comes back to haunt her as a veil catches alight from candles during a Take A Vow event.
She later gets help from her brother Jai (Chris Bisson) and village GP Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker).
Meanwhile, as Priya faces her trauma, Leyla Cavanagh (Roxy Shahidi) is rattled when a client, Justin, offers her a job with his team in London.
Although she’s overwhelmed, Priya manages to not let her past have an impact on the present and, the following day, she shocks Leyla and Suzy Merton by showing up at work.
As Leyla tries to come to a decision about the job in London, Priya later bumps into Justin outside the Hop.
She owns up to previous events and explains her past trauma.
Impressed by her honesty and vulnerability, Justin invites her for a coffee… just as Leyla accepts the job over the phone.
Leyla’s jaw drops when she finds out Priya has been offered the job with Justin’s company.
Although she defends herself by claiming she had no idea Leyla was offered the job in the first place, Priya is accused of sabotage by her boss.
And a spiralling David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) will be making matters worse for Priya.
