The iconic Rovers Return Inn on Coronation Street has been closed and is set for a major overhaul. Waterford's, a property development company, has plans to transform the pub into something new and exciting. The future of the beloved establishment will finally be revealed as builders take charge of the project in the coming weeks.

A Cause for Concern

Earlier this year, Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) grew concerned about the declining business at the Rovers. Despite her efforts to save it, the pub was eventually shut down by Waterford's. Jenny and her employees were left devastated, forced out of the boozer for good.

A New Development

In upcoming scenes on ITV, Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) receives a call from a property developer friend, asking him to oversee the conversion of the Rovers into flats. Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) is thrilled, but Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) warns that the entire Street will be against the project. Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) leads a "Save the Rovers Campaign," rallying the troops as they witness Luke, Ed, and Ronnie leaving the pub.

A Betrayal?

Jenny believes that the Rovers has been sold and feels heartbroken, thinking that Ronnie betrayed her. But is everything really as it seems? Will Jenny and her former employees, including Glenda and Sean Tully, be able to save and reopen the Rovers?

A Reopening on the Horizon

Soap boss Iain MacLeod has revealed that the Rovers won't stay closed for long. In fact, it is set to reopen on New Year's Eve, bringing joy to the residents of Weatherfield.
