Who was her character?

What happened to Teresa Bryant on Corrie?

Diehard Corrie fans will remember Teresa Bryant.

The character was first introduced to viewers in March, 2007, as the former wife of Jerry Morton and mother of Jodie, Darryl, Mel and Kayleigh.

Her youngest son Finlay was the result of an affair but the young boy was taken in by Jerry after Teresa left to go on holiday without him.

While her neglectful behaviour was reason enough for viewers not to like her, Teresa stooped to a new and shocking low in 2008, when she was allowed to move in with the Mortons to help take care of her ex-husband Jerry.

At the time, Jerry was recovering from a heart attack but his health would take a turn once Teresa got to him.

In order to stay under the same roof as the clan, Teresa poisoned Jerry to keep him ill by lacing his meals with tablets..

Her daughter Mel eventually found out what she had been up to and, after giving her father an ultimatum between her and Teresa, she stayed at her friend’s home, Abi Sharpe.

Jerry’s poisoning led to him collapsing and banging his head on the coffee table, which left with a bleeding ear.

Teresa confessed to him whilst he was in hospital, despite his proposal to give it another go with her.

She was then arrested for attempted murder down the line for her actions before becoming persona non grata at No.6.

Teresa was forced to leave the Street a first time after Jerry sold his takeaway business to Dev Alahan and rented No.6 to Anna and Eddie Windass.

She came back in 2009 and although Dev Alahan and her son Darryl tried to give her a second chance at life in the cobbles, Teresa managed to show them they’d been wrong to trust her.

After being allowed to move into the Corner Shop flat with Darryl by Dev, she got her old job back at the takeaway.

Things came to a head when Darryl was paid by Dev to break up with Amber Kalirai, whom Teresa thought wasn’t good enough for her son.

She eventually told Amber Darryl had been bribed to break things off with her, which led an angry Darryl to throw her out of the flat and she was sacked by Dev.

Darryl left Weatherfield for Spain, prompting Teresa to find her own footing in Coronation Street.

After securing a job as a cleaner in the Underworld factory, Teresa embarked on a romance with Lloyd Mullaney.

However, in May 2010, Teresa packed up her things and left Coronation Street, believing she had nothing left to hold on to.

She realised Lloyd only had eyes for Cheryl Gray and was encouraged by his former flame Liz McDonald to walk away with her head held high.

Her whereabouts are unknown as she hasn’t been seen since.
