STRICTLY Come Dancing fans are predicting Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe are set to be eliminated in this week’s competition – after scathing reviews from the judges.

The pair performed a jive to Brown-Eyed Girl by Van Morrison, taking on a performance inspired by a pair of runaways driving in the desert like Thelma and Louise.

Ellie T expressed her disappointment with a sarcastic thumbs-up

Ellie and Johannes performed a fun and upbeat routine to Brown Eyed Girl

However, Ellie and Johannes only walked away with 25 points, after Craig Revel-Horwood and Shirley Ballas in particular judged their routine severely.

Craig only awarded them a harsh five points, and told the pair: “It lacked punch, it lacked precision, the footwork was messy… You went wrong down here as well got off on the wrong foot or something. In all it was lacklustre, I’m afraid.”

The comment earned a hilariously sarcastic thumbs up from Ellie, while Johannes looked disappointed.

“I love the theme. I thought the narrative was good. I could see that you were enjoying it,” Shirley added in an attempt to mix the good with the bad. “But for me, the technique missed completely, it looked quite heavy and a little bit flat footed.

“When it got towards the end, you started to slip your standing foot and it started to get a little bit lighter but there is no mistaking your personality is exquisite. But at week check 10, I want a little bit of both if I can.”

Motsi Mabuse was far more positive, though also said the Ted Lasso came across a bit heavy-footed, and told Ellie: “I have two sections for you. I have a performance which I feel is getting better, and then I have a technical aspect where I think the drive, we need a bit of pendulum and suspension in the leg so it’s lighter, and that’s the base of the jive and that was missing a bit. So it made it a little bit tiny, heavy.

“But all in all, you can have a swing Jive or a high jump. You had the taste of the jive, which was nice to see.”

While Anton Du Beke said: “I love the way you performed. As we said earlier, I love the way you perform your numbers. You could be a musical theatre star, really you you have great characterization.

“Yeah the jive lacked a bit here and there, but we’ll let them deal with that. I thought the performance was marvellous.”

Unfortunately with the competition getting closer to the final, viewers think Ellie and Johannes, aka “Team Jellie” have their days numbered – even if they didn’t agree with the judges.

“Craig is just being ridiculous. Neither Ellie nor Helen should have got a 5,” wrote one fan.

Another said: “Why are motsi and anton scared to critique, there was no energy in Ellie’s dance, don’t compliment it in week 10”

“I really love Ellie and Johannes but I sadly don’t think they’ll make it to the final,” said a third.

A fourth wrote: “Ellie and Johannes sorry, not this week, your poorest dance so far, I don’t think you will survive.”

While a fifth commented: “Sorry Ellie, but those kicks weren’t up to it and the choreo was too basic for week 10. She looked like she had fun though (if still anxious of looking stupid and not surrendering to the dance)”

“Ellie t I love you but that was her worst dance to date think it’s her time to go now,” a sixth sadly added.

Results will air tomorrow night, with the bottom two performing in the dreaded dance-off.

Kym Marsh didn’t appear on this week’s show after the Morning Live presenter tested positive for Covid. She has been given a bye until next week.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturdays on BBC One and airs on BBC iPlayer.
