STRICTLY Come Dancing’s winner has been named by the show’s biggest fans – Sun readers.

The identity of this year’s champion and runner-up were picked in an annual poll, the results of which are rarely wrong.

Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal have been tipped to gain the Glitterball

Many Strictly voters suggested that Hamza Yassin, a little known TV star before Strictly, will surge to victory.

Several hailed him for the much-feted “journey” many of the BBC hit’s winners are seen to have taken.

Unlike many stars Hamza, 32, who is being coached by Jowita Przystal, never had any dance experience or formal training before the show.

Coronation Street actor Will Mellor was also widely tipped to make the final – but come runner-up to the nature cameraman and host.

One fan wrote, asked by HOAR who will win: “Hamza for definite, he’s another of the non dancers to come on really well….hope he’s the winner….x.”

Others commented: “Hamza 100%” and “Hamza he is really good.”

The bookies agree, putting him favourite to win, ahead of Helen Skelton and Ellie Simmonds.

However, with weeks still to run in the competition – the final is days before Christmas – things could change in the rankings.

BBC bosses have already banked on rising star Hamza’s popularity – handing the star his own nature show.

A TV insider told HOAR: “He’s been nothing short of a sensation on Strictly this year, coming from being a virtual unknown to becoming a huge favourite among viewers and judges alike.

“That’s why he’s invariably been near the top of the scoreboard every week and has never been in the dance-off.

“But his popularity is as much to do with his personality and humility as anything else — and that’s what bosses are keen to develop further.”
