DIABLO 4 is making an update that will disrupt players’ games.

The controversial decision will come into play with Diablo 4 Season 1 which starts in July.

It doesn’t matter how strong your current character is.

Despite the majority of players having yet to finish the main campaign, a new season is about to begin.

The new season will bring with it a battle pass, and comes with a controversial change.

Development chief Rod Fergusson revealed: “To take part in the seasonal questline, mechanics, season journey, and battle pass, you will need to create a new seasonal character.

“Playing [the] campaign with [your] seasonal character (if you so desire or need to finish) will also progress the season journey and battle pass.”

Diablo 4 encouraged players to purchase the Deluxe Edition and level their character to the maximum in order to get their name memorialised at Blizzard HQ.

This means that many players have levelled their character to 100 before the season starts.

Others are worried the season is coming too quickly as many haven’t put in the required hours to get to the end of the main campaign.

They feel rushed to finish the story before July, so that they can keep up with the new challenges that are coming.

Fergusson confirmed: “The new season mechanics [and] features come after the campaign is complete so you should focus on completing it now.

“So you can just skip it when the season starts since you only ever need to complete the campaign once.”

However, this does require players to have completed the main campaign within just two months of launch.

Diablo has done this in the past, and Diablo 3 forced players to make a new character at the start of each season.

However, Diablo 3 was released over a decade ago, and many people are starting out their Diablo journey with this latest game.
