THE Masked Dancer’s Frankie Seaman has revealed that she has not been able to skate for the last three months after sustaining an injury on the show.

The footie legend, 59, and the Dancing on Ice star were forced to withdraw after Frankie sustained an ankle injury during rehearsals.

Pillar and Post withdrew from the competition on Saturday night

Speaking exclusively to HOAR about her injury, Frankie said: “The injury was about three and a half months ago that we filmed the show.

“It’s feeling a lot better now, almost back to full strength.”

When asked if she was back on the ice, Frankie said: “It’s looking good, it won’t be far away.”

On Saturday night, Pillar and Post were finally revealed after judges Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse, Davina McCall and Peter Crouch shared their final guesses.

The couple entered the competition as the first double act.

When asked if David would have wanted to carry on the competition on his own, without hesitation he replied: “Absolutely not, the only reason that I said yes to doing the show, was that we were together.

“I’ve skated with Frankie and danced with Frankie – I wouldn’t get any enjoyment at all.

“I would have been so nervous doing it on my own.

“That’s why I don’t want to do Strictly, I’ve been asked but I’ve said no. I’ve watched my mate Tony Adams on there and it’s so nerve-wracking.”

However, Frankie was quick to confirm that she would have ditched David and carried on the competition on her own if he had suffered an injury.

She said: “Well, I would have done it on my own if it was the other way round.”

When asked if bosses had given them the opportunity to go it alone, the pro skater said: “I did say, you could just put someone in my costume, and nobody would know – but they said that’s not the spirit of the competition and I got shut down.”

Despite their early departure, the couple confirmed that they would return to the popular show next year if asked.

“Yes we would go back on the show, it was good fun,” David said.

“When I said yes to it, I was very sceptical and nervous and I didn’t know If I would have to dance, but now I know what it’s like, as long as they don’t ask me to do rhythm dancing.

“I was actually counting to the music though which I thought I would never do.”

The couple admitted that they had no intention of winning the show but wanted to sign up after a difficult year.

Frankie: “We knew we were never going to win. We had lost so many people during the pandemic, and we know that there are so many people out there that would love to have a dance with their special person that is no longer here, and we said how could we turn that down.

“It was really special for us to do that.”

David added: “The reason we signed up because it was a chance of working together.”

Masked Dancer fans were left shocked on Saturday when the as Pillar and Post were forced to withdraw from the show after an injury.

Host Joel Dommett explained on tonight’s episode: “Sadly, Pillar took a tumble during rehearsals, and I am absolutely gutted to tell you that on medical advice they have had to withdraw from the competition.”

Speaking about their departure from the Masked Dancer, Frankie shared in a statement: “We were gutted as we absolutely loved every minute! It was great fun but a tumble meant our Masked journey came to an end too soon, we had such a blast and we were sad that we had to hang up our masks without being able to share our final dance with you all!

“We have loved being part of this series and we wish the other competitors the best of luck as we continue to watch at home and try to guess who all the other celebrities are!”

An ITV spokesperson confirmed: “Due to an injury sustained during rehearsals Pillar has had to withdraw from the competition, we wish her a speedy recovery.”

Following their departure, one fan wrote: “Pillar & post are Frankie & David Seaman! Such a shame they had to leave early! I hope Frankie gets better soon!”

Another penned: “They’re might not have to stay on, but Frankie and David Seaman AKA Pillar and Post are always in my heart, as both are my only favourite contestant of The Masked Dancer UK Season 2.”

David took to social media to rave about his time on the hit ITV show, writing: “Take it off!!!! Loved this more than I could have ever imagined!!! Thank you.”

Meanwhile, Channel 4 presenter Steph McGovern was unmasked as Tomato Sauce.

The couple said they would return as different characters
