BRITS are set to be battered by showers in the next few days, prompting flood warnings across the UK.
Heavy rain is forecast for much of the country today, as a band of soaking weather sweeps in from the West.

The warnings are in place for much of today
The Environment Agency has activated 33 flood alerts, meaning that flooding is possible, and 7 flood warnings, meaning that it is likely.
The warnings cover regions including the area around the River Severn in Shrewsbury, Shropshire and around the River Ouse in York, Yorkshire.
The Yorkshire warning states that riverside properties are already being flooded this morning and urges residents to “act now”.
There are also six flood alerts active in Scotland and the same number in Wales.
Meanwhile, the Met Office has issued three separate yellow weather warnings for rain today, with travel disruption expected.
The first warning covers Northern Ireland and lasts until 10am, after being issued at 2pm yesterday.
The others cover most of Wales and much of the west coast, reaching from Glasgow down towards Birmingham until 3pm today.
The warnings state that “spray and flooding” will “probably” make journey times longer on roads.
The Met forecast for today predicts: “A wet start for many with rain, heavy at times, especially in the North and West.
“Becoming brighter but showery over Northern Ireland and western Scotland this afternoon.
“Parts of southern and eastern England also brightening up for a time.”
Forecasters then expect a milder night than the recent trend, with showers across the country.
Going into the weekend, conditions are set to be “unsettled” as rain is “accompanied by some gusty winds.”
The long range forecast for next week suggests more wet weather is on the way, with “a mixture of heavy showers and rain” as well as the “risk of snow” in northern areas, particularly on higher ground in Scotland.
