JESSIE Wallace has teased her EastEnders return – four months after she was suspended for her “boozy behaviour on set”.
The 48-year-old Kat Slater actress was temporarily written out of upcoming plots on the show after filming scenes for the soap’s explosive 35th anniversary special.
She had recently split with her greengrocer boyfriend Paul Keepin after two years.
After taking time away from the spotlight, Jessie has shared snaps of herself looking happy and healthy as she focused on herself over the past few months.
But hinting that she’s getting prepared to go back to work, Jessie showed off her gifted earrings and captioned the post: “Thank you @nancy_and_nora for these beauty’s! Kat can not wait to wear them.”
Fans were thrilled to hear Kat Slater will be back on TV screens soon, with one saying: “Can’t wait for Kat to come back wearing those beauties.”
Another added: “And we cannot wait to have our Cat back on our screens. @jessie.wallace_official we love you. Come back when you are ready. Have a blessed weekend x.”
A source told HOAR it appeared that troubled Jessie seemed drunk on set.
Bosses held a crisis meeting and decided she would be axed from the show for two months to “sort herself out”.
It’s believed Jessie will now resume filming when the EastEnders cast return to work in June.
Channel bosses have held secret talks over the soap — which was brought to a halt six weeks ago by the Covid-19 crisis.
Jessie has been one of the biggest stars in soapland for years, joining the drama for her first stint as Alfie Moon’s girlfriend between 2000 and 2005.
In the mid-2000s she was exposed for using the drug ketamine and was suspended from the show for bad behaviour and threatened with the axe.
The mum of one was also convicted of drink-driving in 2003 and attended counselling sessions.
And in 2018, she was sent home from the British Soap Awards by bosses amid claims she turned up to the event drunk.
