AMANDA Holden has told how grief therapy with her husband Chris after their son’s tragic stillbirth helped to heal her family.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge had sessions of grief therapy to deal with the loss of Theo, who was stillborn in 2011.

Brave Amanda Holden spoke about going to grief therapy after the tragic death of her son Theo who was stillborn in 2012

Brave Amanda, 49, revealed how she coped during the most traumatic of times as she spoke to Loose Women’s Kaye Adams today.

She said: “Chris had been really strong, he gathered around the family and we talked about it but he never really showed his emotions because he wanted to be that tower of strength.”

The star continued: “(Therapy) was more for me and I wanted to take Chris because we were using each other too much for our sorrow, we kind of ran out of tools you would say in how we could help each other and we needed another voice who could sit there and say ‘well have you tried this or considered this’.

“For me it was amazing and Chris, to get him there was amazing, and immediately, he felt a lot better and felt ‘OK I know what I’m doing’ after one session and he never came back. And I went for a few more sessions.

“I was able to pass it on to Chris and my daughter Lexi who was five at the time, so most of it went over her head.”

Amanda offered advice to those who have lost loved ones and said she was able to manage her grief in a “spiritual way”.

She continued: “Because my loss was a baby that never made it to earth I had to find a spiritual way around it, which I did create this whole scenario in my head that my baby chose me and he wasn’t meant to be if you will.

“I was able to make a conscious story out of it and he was a gift to me and thankfully I was blessed with Hollie my eight year old who came soon after.

“It’s a cliche but you can only take one day at a time – it’s what you can learn from it, gather everyone around you. I hung on very tight to Chris [husband] and my family.”

Amanda was back on our screens for the last Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals on Saturday night — as head judge in the absence of the injured Simon Cowell.

She gave a stunning performance of a song from her hit debut album Songs From My Heart.

Amanda admitted singing Not While I’m Around solo and in front of millions of people watching at home was “terrifying” – but despite her nerves viewers were left stunned by her incredible vocals.
