Roy Cropper actor David Neilson had headed down to the rink side to support his co-star Mollie Gallagher.

The actor was spotted during the Nina Lucas actress’ performance, before chatting to the show’s hosts.

Holly Willoughby headed over to meet David, 73, and talk through Mollie’s latest skate alongside Sylvain Longhchambon.

“It’s Corrie’s Roy Cropper – David Neilson is here!” Holly, 42, introduced the actor as the audience cheered for the star.

“You must be Mollie’s lucky charm as she just got her highest score ever. You must be so proud of her?”

“She’s fabulous,” David replied. “She’s got more confident every week, just like she was when she came to our show.”

Addressing it was ‘props’ week on the ice, Holly asked: “Have you ever had any mishaps on the prop?”

David then appeared to give away a spoiler, saying: “Quite recently while Mollie has been doing this.

“I’ve got a little friend to come in to take her place while she’s gone – and he’s about this big – but I can’t say more as it’s not on screen yet.

“They sat this little thing on my lap and it left a little mess.”

“It’s a little furry friend,” David confirmed, as Holly gushed: “Oh, and exclusive! Watch out for that on Coronation Street.”

Fans were delighted by the unconfirmed storyline news, and took to Twitter to gush over David.

“The actual Roy Cropper in the audience!” one wrote, as another said: “Great to see a supportive Roy.”

“It’s weird seeing Roy Cropper without his shopping bag!” a third joked, while a fourth said: “Aw! Roy’s here!”

Last night, Mollie celebrated her highest ever score as she continues to impress the Dancing On Ice judges.

However, it was the end of the road for Darren Harriott, who was sent home after a skate-off with Siva Kaneswaran.

“I lasted a lot longer than I expected. I thought I’d be out before the show started,” Darren said on his exit.

“Honestly, thank you, thank you to everyone. I’ve never skated before Everyone’s been so nice, all the pros and all the celebs.”
