FANS of Dancing on Ice think they know the ‘real reason’ Lou Sanders was saved first despite her low scores.

The stand up comedian took to the rink all dressed in pink last night to perform a Bridesmaids themed skate routine.

Lou Sanders was saved first last night despite scoring low in Dancing on Ice

Fans think they have worked out why

Viewers were shocked to see Lou only receive 22 points out of 40, and hit out at the judges for ‘undermarking’ her.

She came under fire from the critics for not having good posture, and struggling to recover from lifts.

Christopher Dean provided some constructive feedback, advising: “I think when you’re landing the lifts, you’ve got to concentrate on the core and find the ice and stand up and be strong and you’ll be positive then.

“And on the crossovers, make sure they crossover.

“But it was an improvement, we’re getting better and that’s where we want to go.”

A disheartened Lou responded that she is only good “when no one’s watching”.

Given her low scores, viewers were surprised when she was the first person saved for the next round of Dancing on Ice.

However, some eagle-eyed fans think they know why her name was the first out of the hat.

They took to social media to share their thoughts, with one speculating: “I think Lou was saved first because she was in the skate off last week, that’s a common trope in these shows – start with an unexpected save one.”

Another agreed: “‘Shock’ save as she was in the bottom two last week, I think.”

One audience member thought she deserved to be let off the hook early, saying: “Glad Lou was called first, think she needs to work on her dancing skills but she doesn’t get nearly enough praise for solo skating.”
