Sharing a gory picture of her wound, Sam shared with fans: “Spent the afternoon in A+E with Rosie today.

“This is what happens when you do gymnastics and ice skating and are incredibly flexible.

“She managed to get the heel of her blade in the back of her head while kicking backwards.”

He later reassured fans she was OK, and wrote: “She’s all good! Thank you for all who messaged and the nurses who looked after her. How amazing is the NHS.”

Sam met and fell in love with his wife Vicky when they won Dancing On Ice more than a decade ago.

EastEnders viewers will know Sam best as Leon Small, Peter Beale’s buddy and his sister Lucy’s love interest, from when he appeared in 2010.

The star, who also appeared in the short-lived E20 spin-off, went on to dominate Dancing On Ice the following year.

He beat Laura Hamilton and Chloe Madeley alongside his pro partner Brianne Delcourt.

Sam returned for another turn around the rink in the All Stars series when he was partnered with Vicky – but lost out on the title this time to Ray Quinn.

Since then Sam has carved out a successful career in the West End and has been performing ever since.

Vicky returned to Dancing On Ice this series and was paired with  Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards, who went out first.

She first appeared on the show in 2012.

Sam and Vicky married in 2014 in front of friends including Heidi Range and Jeff Brazier at Surrey’s Northbrook Park.

The couple, who share a lovely house together, had their first daughter Rosie in 2016.

Their second daughter, Daisy, was born in 2019.

Speaking previously about how he pulled Vicky, Sam said: “I pulled out some of my best chat up lines and said ‘On this tour, you and me are going to get together.’ Apparently when I turned away, you turned to [Coronation Street actor] Andy Whyman and went ‘What a k**b’.”

He added to OK!: “During the tour, I made several advances to Vicki via SMS, email, any of the popular internet messages services and I never got a reply. It took a while but I carried on and eventually I got there.”
