ONE star from Dancing On Ice has reveals that he’s returning to the show for the final.

This is despite an absolutely disastrous exit from the hit ITV primetime skating show seven weeks ago

The star was previously eliminated by the judges after he faced Lou Sanders in the skate off

Ricky Hatton, 45, was the very first contestant eliminated from the 2024 series of Dancing On Ice.

He faced stand-up comedian and writer Lou Sanders in the second week of the show after landing in the bottom two.

But it seems he is getting ready to make a triumphant return to the show for the final.

Rick even admitted that he has to learn a new routine for the highly-anticipated instalment, despite his elimination.

He told Spinbet: “It’s funny because in the contract it said everybody had to be there for the final which I thought I would only have to travel down and see everyone again and smile with a glass of champagne.

“But no, I was down there yesterday all day learning a new routine. It’s not as big as the last routine, it’s a couple of laps of honour type of thing.

“I thought I was done with it but no I’ve got to a little routine. To be honest, I’ve met some great friends, it was a great experience, and I can say I can skate now so that’s a box ticked.”

He added: “It was good fun. I got knocked out in the first round, but I don’t regret going on, it was a great experience.”

The professional boxer also admitted that he felt he was disadvantaged in the Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern fronted competition.

He revealed that he had less training time than some of his competitors who signed up to the show earlier than he did, so they got extra practise in.

“People were practicing from the summer, and I agreed to do it 10 weeks before it started,” he claimed.

“The first day I agreed to do it, I couldn’t even walk two steps so as poor as my performance was in comparison to everyone else who were brilliant, but to do what I did in 10 weeks, it’s not as if I could do any better or anymore.”

He added: “People who have been on the ice and given it a go will see my view or my excuse!”

Ricky also admitted that he would love to see any of the finalists pick up the trophy, although he has a soft spot for former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas.

“Every single one of them you could tell must’ve done a little bit of skating at some point and the four that are in it in Ryan Thomas, Greg Rutherford, Adele Roberts and Miles look like they’re professional it’s different class.

“Anyone could win it but all it needs is someone to clip on their toes or a little wobble, it’s such a fine line with the scoring.

“I consider them all mates now but Ryan Thomas is a mate of mine for a good while so I would like him to win it, he’s been brilliant.”

“I’ve known Ryan for a good few years and Claire Sweeney and to be honest with you, normally you get there with 12 different contestants and would think there’ll be a couple of wrongens but not at all.

“Whoever wins I’ll be happy, but I’d like Ryan to do it and he looks like he enjoys it so much. It’s another thing before he gets on, he’s a right stress head but he wants to do so well and is so enthusiastic.”
