The podcast duo claimed that the rules were bent for Amber

The discussed if judges should judge dancers based on potential or performance. With both answering that stars should be judged based on performance, they both came to the conclusion that the rules were bent for Amber.

The duo talked about whether judges should judge dancers by their potential or their performance. Both agreed that it should be based on performance. Frankie and Matt came to the conclusion that the rules were bent for Amber.

Oti Mabuse saved Eddie whilst Johnny Weir, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean saved Amber.

In the podcast, Matt pointed out Johnny’s comment from the show, where he made his decision based on who he believed had the greatest potential to reach the final.

The hosts also noticed fan concerns, one of which was fans saying the skate-off wasn’t fair because Eddie skated alone while Amber didn’t.

The podcast duo explained why Amber’s skating skills weren’t reflected in her skate-off.

Matt explained: “The skate-offs are choreographed prior to show one and it is the responsibility of the professional to re choreograph it at some point if you feel your celebrity is able to handle a re-choreographing session of that skate-off.

“What we saw was, when Eddie started the competition on week one, he was much stronger than a lot of the other couples that are out there so his skate-off was stronger and had more solo skating in it.

“Amber’s skate-off was choreographed prior to Christmas before show one” – Frankie finishing his sentence said: “so it reflected the skills that she was bringing to the table at that time.”

Matt agreed and said: “exactly.”

Fans believing that Eddie performed better took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their frustrations.

One fan said: “Nonsense decision, Eddie is by far a better individual skater than Amber, he should have gone through based purely on skating.”

A second commented: “Absolute disgrace, that’s me not watching any more, fix.”

While a third said: “It’s a con, Amber fluffed up at the end and did not skate on her own, and Chris saw it clearly, Eddie was robbed he was the better skater, plus he had to lift his partner. The competition is rigged. Unfair elimination.”

They also insisted that judges should be making their decisions based on performance and not potential
