Gaynor Faye was the first ever winner of Dancing On Ice in 2006

Beating Made In Chelsea star Miles Nazaire and Radio One DJ Adele Roberts after Olympics legend Greg Rutherford was forced to pull out hours before the live show, the actor thanked newcomer dance partner Amani Fancy  for getting him to the series finale.

Ryan, 39, said: “I’m speechless! I just can’t, it’s Amani, I’m happy for her because she’s put so much hard work in with me.”

He joins the likes of Joe Swash, James Jordan and Gaynor Faye who were previously crowned champs after taking to the rink.

Here’s what happened to the victorious stars next.

The ex Coronation Street star was paired with pro skater Daniel Whiston, who has since become the show’s Associate Creative Director.

After winning the show, Gaynor went on to appear in the stage adaptation of Calendar Girls in 2009, before becoming a guest panellist on Loose Women in 2010.

In 2011, it was announced that she had landed a part in Emmerdale playing Megan Macey.

Gaynor was at the centre of a series of dramatic storylines for seven-year until her exit in 2019, when her on-screen partner Frank tragically died in a factory blaze.

in 2021, she appeared in the BBC One lottery drama The Syndicate, written my her late mother Kay Mellor, and is now starring in the upcoming stage adaptation with her son, Oliver Anthony.

Kyran Bracken – 2007

Rugby star Kyran Bracken was the first male celeb to take the trophy

Former rugby star Kyran Bracken swapped the scrum-half for the ice rink as he partnered up with pro Melanie Lambert.

The sport star became the first male celebrity to take the crown and proved he was just as talented on skates as he is on the field.

At the time, he received the highest score in the semi-final in the history of DoI with 29.5 out of a possible 30.

After he was crowned the winner, Kyran then toured with Holiday On Ice in their show Romanza. He also made an appearance on the ITV show in 2008 to help pal Steve Backley with his performance.

He later returned for the All Stars version of Dancing On Ice in 2014, finishing fifth.

In 2016 it was revealed that Kyran was renting out his £3.5million mansion in upmarket Hadley Wood, north London, for X Factor hopefuls.

He also opened up on his crippling struggles with OCD, having noticed symptoms since 2001 which made him go to the toilet up to 90 times a night.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain in 2019, he said: “I was just so embarrassed because of the stigma attached. Years later I found that other people were suffering at the same time.”

Kyran has since welcomed his three sons Charlie, Jack and Lochlan with his wife Victoria.

He has also continued to champion his love of rugby after he launched a podcast called Ruck It! with fellow England international Nick Easter.

Suzanne Shaw – 2008

Popstar Suzanne Shaw won with pro skater Matt Evers

Former Hear’Say star Suzanne Shaw took to the ice like a duck to water and was crowned winner of the third series.

The singer showed off her impressive technical footwork, solo skating skills, as well as many lifts and tricks with her partner Matt Evers 13 years ago.

The popstar went onto perform in huge West End productions, including Chicago, in which she played Roxie Hart, and the Vagina Monologues.

The actress then landed a role in Emmerdale as Edna Birch’s wayward granddaughter Eve in 2010, but left the village a year later.

In 2012 Shaw toured in Funny Peculiar, and she is also a panto regular, with her most recent role as Belle in Beauty and the Beast at Chesterfield’s Pomegranate Theatre, in 2021.

In an interview with Closer Magazine, she admitted that, at her worst, she would drink to numb her feelings.

In February 2012, Suzanne announced she and her husband Jason King were separating.

She has been engaged to fiance Sam Greenfield since 2015, and has a son Rafferty, eight, with him, as well as 19-year-old son Corey with Darren Day.

Suzanne split from husband Jason King in 2012. She gave birth to her second son, and first with second husband Sam Greenfield, in 2015.

She is also mum to Corey, 15, with ex-partner Darren Day.

Ray then joined the cast of Hollyoaks in 2018 where he was introduced as villain Jonny Baxter.

The star has stepped away from the limelight and revealed he was a Hermes delivery driver, earning £11.40 an hour, in lockdown.

Then, in 2021, he joined brothers Darren and Robin to work for the family carpet fitting business.

The couple have clearly passed their love of ice skating on to their children, as last month, Rosie was rushed to hospital with an ice skating injury.

Last year, Matthew and his wife of five years, Charley Webb, who played Debbie Dingle on Emmerdale, announced their split.

He quickly moved on with his personal trainer Heather Stanley, and pictures of them emerged kissing in the street.

However, the actor insisted reports he’d cheated on Charley with her were an “out and out lie”.

Charley and Matthew have three children together, Buster, 13, Bowie, seven, and four-year-old Ace.

Olympic gymnast Beth was a natural on the ice

However, the sport star was forced to pull out after she suffered a back injury and  later had to undergo neck surgery.

In January 2019, Channel 4 confirmed the series would be axed, after 34 stars had suffered injuries on the show across four series.

In 2021, Beth sued the makers of the show for £200,000 in damages over life-changing injuries she sustained on The Jump.

Beth now works a sports pundit for the BBC and Eurosport.

He proved he’s an all-rounder after he starred in Hair The Musical and also appeared on Hollyoaks as Woody in 2019.

Having lost his brother and dad to cancer, Jake appeared in The Real Full Monty On Ice at the end of 2020 to help raise awareness of the illness.

In September 2022, Jake married Sophie Church in a lavish Ibiza wedding. The pair share son Leo, three.

Ella has been unwell for a number of months after being diagnosed with pneumonia, tonsillitis and also a heart murmur.

Last month she was rushed to hospital on the same “traumatic” day as Ola and Jordan’s Strictly pro friend Robin Windsor died.

Joe Swash – 2020

Joe Swash was the surprise winner in 2020

Former EastEnders star Joe Swash was the surprise winner in 2021, after he beat Diversity’s Perri Kiely in the final.

Sonny Jay – 2021

Sonny Jay won the series in 2021

Dancing On Ice’s crown was unexpectedly snatched by little-known DJ Sonny Jay in 2021, upending the assumption Faye Brookes would triumph.

Viewers were left stunned when hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield announced the Capital FM presenter had beaten the Coronation Street actress – who was the bookies favourite to win.

After winning the show, Sonny continued to host Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp and Sian Welby.

But in December 2022, he replaced Marvin Humes on the Capital Late Show.

He also overhauled his lifestyle last year, and got a six-pack which he says helped him find love again with Liam Payne‘s ex Danielle Peazer.

Earlier this year, the pair announced they’re expecting their first child together.

Following his win, Regan – who revealed he was bisexual in 2019 – went Instagram official with his boyfriend Jarryd Hughes on an incredible trip to Bali.

Nile Wilson – 2023

It clearly pays to be a gymnast on Dancing On Ice, as Nile Wilson won the show last year.

Nile now runs a YouTube channel where he posts vlogs about his workouts, daily life and gymnastics, on which he has more than 1.58 million subscribers.

He also has another channel with his father, Neil & Nile Golf, with more than 160,000 subscribers.
