I’m A Celebrity winner Sam Thompson took to Instagram to share an intimate video with his girlfriend Zara McDermott, as the couple celebrated her birthday. Thompson, who was crowned King of the Jungle on Sunday night, posted a sweet clip of the couple cuddling in bed together. In the video, he can be heard singing “happy birthday goose” to McDermott, who turned 27. The pair looked happier than ever to be reunited after Thompson’s time in the jungle.
A Special Birthday Celebration
Thompson’s Instagram post came after a busy week filled with emotions. After landing back in the UK, he was met by a delighted McDermott, who was carrying a bunch of balloons. Thompson’s best friend Pete Wicks, who had been in Australia to support him during the final, was also present. Wicks jokingly described himself as feeling awkward as the couple reunited. He even shared a picture comparing himself to the character Carl from the film Up, also holding a bunch of balloons.
King of the Jungle
Over the weekend, Thompson was crowned King of the Jungle, with boxer Tony Bellew coming in second and Nigel Farage in third place. Fans were curious as to why McDermott wasn’t there to meet Thompson after his win. McDermott explained that she thought she would still be competing on Strictly Come Dancing. However, she hosted a celebration party at their home with friends and family to support Thompson’s victory.
Thompson expressed his gratitude to his fans on social media, saying, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart, there aren’t quite the words to describe how grateful I am for each and every one of you who supported me during my time in the jungle.” He also reflected on his initial nervousness and how he was unsure of what to expect when he entered the jungle.
