A New Look for the Irish Comic
I’m A Celebrity star Andrew Maxwell has undergone a transformation. The 48-year-old comedian now sports a bushy beard, giving him a worldly air that suggests he can handle anything, even the Australian wilderness.
A Familiar Environment
Andrew is no stranger to the jungle. He spent two weeks there back in 2019, enduring the lack of home comforts and creepy crawlies at every turn. But it wasn’t just the natural elements he had to contend with.
Abrasive Behavior and Accusations
Former sportsman Ian Wright’s behavior towards Andrew was so abrasive that it prompted Ofcom complaints and accusations of bullying. Ian took issue with Andrew napping instead of washing up after a trial, as well as breaking a camp rule by serving himself dinner.
Support from Fellow Campmates
Fortunately, other campmates such as James Haskell, Caitlyn Jenner, and Kate Garraway were there to support Andrew. They helped him navigate the intense environment and pick him up when he needed it.
A Diplomatic Response
Andrew’s wife, Suraya El-Wakil, handled the situation diplomatically. She insisted that Andrew and Ian were actually good friends outside of the show and that disagreements are bound to happen in such a challenging environment.
Doing Well Now
Despite the challenges, Andrew seems to be doing well. He is currently running the Eejits of the World podcast with his Canadian comic pal Glenn Wool.
