I’m A Celebrity fans think that Hollyoaks star Owen Warner is related to former finalist
Viewers think that Owen is giving off “Joey Essex vibes”

Last night Boy George and Scarlette Douglas were given the VIP treatment, while Owen, 23, Mike, 44, Sue, 59, had to complete The Critters Cruise challenge.

To win their meal for camp, they had to win a star each, which were locked under a boat via a padlock.

While fans watched on, many pointed out that Owen was giving them “Joey Essex vibes” after a number of comments.

Before heading off on the challenge, the soap star confessed that he was scared of snakes running, and also touched his eyeball with his finger when Sue told him that the fish eyes felt like an eyeball.

Many took to Twitter to share the comparison.

One asked: “Is Owen related to Joey Essex by any chance? The similarities are uncanny.”

Another tweeted: “Owen really is giving Joey Essex vibes.”

A third chimed in: “Is Owen the new Joey Essex or what?”

Joey, who shot to fame in 2011 when he joined ITVBe’s Towie, took part in the thirteenth series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2013.

He soon became a huge fan favourite with his hilarious comments and was even taught how to tell the time by camp mate Amy Willerton.

Joey placed fourth.

Last night viewers claimed that they’ve spotted a brewing feud between Mike and Owen.

During the challenge the sportsman joked he would get in the water as “I’m the only one without hair,” before getting to work and helping win all three stars.

But Owen ended up wading through a sewer and also won the three stars.

Some fans thought they spotted Mike holding his tongue around Owen, who is the youngest celeb in the 2022 series.

Others were full of praise for how Sue, Owen and Mike worked together, and one said: “Mike, Sue and Owen are a trio the nation never knew they needed”.

Owen has proven to be a potential fan favourite already after a series of hilarious blunders during his first trial.

immediately fans started laughing at him during a series of unfortunate comments and blunders.

For starters, when introducing himself to Scarlette Douglas, he seemed to not know who she was, prompting Boy George to tell him she was from A Place In HOAR.

Rather than recognising the show, he responded: “Oh yeah? Whereabouts?”

Later on, he was seen knocking on a locked door during the trial, and poking himself in the eye under instruction from cheeky Sue who was giving him instructions on how to get through the challenge.

Naturally fans immediately warmed to him, even if it was because they found him funny.

“Owen …. Knocking on a locked door ??!! The gift that keeps on giving,” wrote one fan.

“Boy George saying oh she’s from a place in the sun, Owen responds ” oh where abouts” I think he’s going to be fun to watch!” said another.

“Owen really isn’t the sharpest tool in the box is he?” added a third. “But ye gods he’s absolutely stunning to look at.”
