Nigel Farage, the former UKIP leader, is seen covered in gunge as he faces his first I’m a Celebrity Bushtucker Trial. There were fears that he would be exempt from some trials, but it seems he’s ready to take on the challenge.
A New Campmate
Nigel Farage, along with other celebrities, will be moving into the I’m a Celeb jungle as the new series kicks off tonight. In a sneak peek, Nigel teams up with TikTok star Nella Rose and This Morning presenter Josie Gibson for their trial.
A Disgusting Challenge
The trio’s trial involves searching through barrels of disgusting-looking gunge. It doesn’t take long before they have to immerse themselves in it. Nigel is definitely put through his paces during the trial, much to the delight of those who have complained about his appearance on the show.
Exempt from Certain Tasks
Before entering the jungle, Nigel revealed that he will be exempt from certain tasks on medical grounds. Due to his past injuries, particularly those from a plane crash and subsequent surgeries, he won’t be able to participate in weightlifting activities. However, he is still confident that he can handle most other challenges.
Cheating Death
Nigel has had several near-death experiences throughout his life. In 2010, he was involved in a plane crash during the General Election campaign. Despite the severity of the crash, he managed to walk away, although he later required major surgery for back and neck injuries. Additionally, Nigel beat cancer in his 20s and survived being run over by a car.
