The reality TV winner says she sympathises with Olivia Hawkins who received backlash for her antics on the show

Ekin-Su, 28, first rose to fame when she won the eighth instalment of the show in the summer of 2022.

But the former soap actress admits that despite the glitz and glamour, the industry is not the easiest to navigate for former reality stars.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, she said: “I think you’ve got to have a thick skin to last in this industry. You shouldn’t go on Love Island if you can’t hack people criticising you, people not liking you, people talking behind your back – because it happens.

“I always remind myself, even if no one wants to be my friend, I’m my friend, so who cares?

“That’s my advice to all the girls: you don’t need everyone to like you or be your friend. People come and go in your life. You’re born alone – this is really deep – but you die alone. No one is sacrificing themselves for you.”

Meanwhile, the former Dancing on Ice contestant is no stranger to causing controversy, and the skating show previously received complaints for her revealing outfits.

However, in the most recent winter edition of Love Island, boxing ring girl Olivia Hawkins, 27, received plenty of social media backlash whilst on the show – something Ekin-Su sympathises with.

The TV personality admitted: “I hope Olivia is okay. She needs to remember who she is and stay strong.

“Because of my past and my childhood when I was really badly bullied, troll comments don’t affect me in the slightest.

“Yes, they’re not nice to read but it doesn’t it really doesn’t affect me.”

Meanwhile, Ekin-Su is still going strong with her fellow Love Island star Davide Sanclimenti, 27.

But, couple recently suffered an embarrassing blunder together.

The former Oh Polly brand ambassador was mortified as she accidentally filmed her boyfriend naked on holiday in the Maldives.

Last year’s Love Island winners proudly told fans about their glorious day out during their trip to the Maldives together when the mishap occurred.

She said they ate Japanese food, lots of fish and then mixed lots of ice-cream and added: “We were actually feeling a bit sick, aren’t we Davide?”

She then panned the camera over to him as they both recoiled in horror.

She laughed: “I didn’t know you were naked.”
