LOVE Island winner Kem Cetinay has opened up for the first time about his new girlfriend Alexandra Hyzler crediting her for finally making him “happy”.
The reality star, 24, also revealed he offered pal Chris Hughes, 27, a shoulder to cry on during lockdown after his split with Little Mix star Jesy Nelson, 29.
Kem, who was reunited with the law student last week after five months apart on a romantic holiday to her native Malta, said: “She’s made me really happy and I’m in a good space.
“She gets me and is really nice and supportive. We’re enjoying ourselves and she’s coming to stay with me soon in Essex.
“It was weird because we have only been together about seven months, so we’ve spent a big chunk of the relationship apart. I missed her and I got on the first available flight so I could go see her.
“We knew it was going to be tough, but she’s really mature. Tensions were high at times, but we Facetimed most nights, I felt like I had a pen pal at one point.”
Despite his impressive six pack he added: “I didn’t bother with topless selfies, she’s not into that stuff.”
Kem won the ITV2 reality show three years ago with Amber Davies, 23, but they split five months after being crowned winners, he reveled they aren’t in touch.
He said: “Dating her feels like a long time ago. We’ve both had relationships since then. I don’t speak to Amber, but I always want the best for her.”
Kem revealed his bromance with 2017 castmate Chris Hughes kept him occupied during lockdown while he was apart from Lexi.
Chris has been getting over his split from singer Jesy, who he split with back in April.
Kem said: “Chris is alright, these things happen. He’s got a supportive family, like me.
“Chris and I got closer in lockdown, we were both so bored we’d just facetime at random moments and he came to visit me in my garden. I’m the dad of the two of us and normally the one that looks after him, but we’re both kids.”
Budding presenter Kem, who’s just released his second Primark Man X Kem range, has no regrets about having sex on the ITV2 show three years ago.
He said: “It wasn’t a full on video, but it makes me cringe now. I can’t change it and I’m loving all the opportunities I’ve had since.”
