LOVE Island viewers have claimed they worked out the 2023 winners before host Maya Jama announced them on screen.

They tuned in to watch the final live from Majorca, with many seeing a subtle clue that ‘gave away’ the winning couple early on.

Love Island fans claim they knew who was going to win

Viewers said the person who stands on the right alwats wins

Usually the pair standing on the right hand side go on to be crowned winners.

True to form on Monday night, Jess and Sammy were stood on the right, and were announced by host Maya Jama as the triumphant pair.

They went head-to-head with the bookies’ favourites Whitney and Lochan in the tense final, but fans said they were able to identify Jess and Sammy as the king and queen of the Island thanks to the clue.

One said on Twitter: “Knew as soon as I saw them standing on the right, that Jess and Sammy was the winners.”

Another penned: “It looks like the theory about the winner’s standing to the host’s left holds some weight.”

And one fan who wanted Whitney and Lochan to win, said: “Hope Whitney and Lochan are standing on Maya’s left when she announces the winner.”

Last year was no different, as Ekin-Su and Davide won the £50,000 jackpot after being assigned the lucky spot.

The theory even worked for the first winter series of the show in 2021, when Finley Tapp and Paige Turley won the £50,000 prize by standing to the left of new host Laura, appearing on the right for viewers at home.

In previous years Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham, Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay,  Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey and Jess Hayes and Max Morley were all placed in the same position in front of the studio audience before being announced as the winners.

The only year it wasn’t correct was in 2019, when Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea stunned the nation by winning after only 12 days of dating.

Other fans took to Twitter to air their frustration at the final result.

Tyrique Hyde and Ella Thomas came third, while Zach Noble and Molly Marsh finished fourth.

Viewers were left questioning the final result, with one writing on Twitter: “This show is much a fix, how can Sammy and Jess win am still shocked the same guy that didn’t find Jess attractive.”

Another said: “I will never be convinced that Love Island isn’t a fix beyond this season because who the f**k voted for Jess and Sammy?!”

A third posted: “That’s a fix, there’s no way.”

A fourth wrote: “FIX!! Absolutely disgusted that Whitney & Lochan didn’t win. Turned that straight off.”

Despite being favourites with the bookies to win and topping HOAR’s poll asking who would win the series, Lochan and Whitney narrowly missed out.
