Eve and Jess Gale are notably missing from the coupling line-up

LOVE Island have teased a shock twist, with twins Eve and Jess Gale seemingly MISSING from the first coupling ceremony.

New photos ahead of tomorrow night’s launch have been revealed, with five beauties preparing to meet the boys for the first time – but the sisters are nowhere to be seen.

Instead, Paige Turley, Sophie Piper, Shaughna Phillips, Siannisse Fudge, and Leanne Armstrong can be seen entering the South Africa villa for the first time.

In the snaps, the five girls are seen making introductions and gossiping by the bar in the sun-drenched garden, before new host Laura Whitmore makes her first arrival.

The ladies then take a seat around the firepit while Laura, wearing a stunning floral dress, no doubt grills them about their hopes for the series and what they are looking for in a man.

Paige, Sophie, Shaughna, Siannisse, and Leanne can then be seen stood nervously in a line as they prepare to couple up with their first boy of the series.

The twins’ absence suggests that the pair will be bombshell arrivals very shortly after the other contestants have coupled up for the first time.

Currently, there are only five confirmed boys in the line-up – meaning that the addition of the twins will upset the balance.

Once Connor Durman, Mike Boateng, Callum Jones, Ollie Williams, and Nas Majeed have been coupled up, it is likely that Eve and Jess will make their shock late entrance to the villa with the intention of stealing two of the men away.

The first ever winter edition of Love Island kicks off at 9pm on ITV2 tomorrow [12 January], but the series has already been plagued with controversy despite not yet hitting our screens.

Last month, host Caroline Flack was forced to step down after she was arrested and charged for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton, with Irish beauty Laura drafted in as her last-minute replacement.

Fans have also been left outraged after The Sun Online revealed that posh contestant Ollie is a big game hunter, with disgusted animal-lovers urging producers to axe him from the line-up.
